President's Report
Welcome back to all our returning members, and a special welcome to our new members!
It is hard to believe summer is coming to an end, and a new school year is beginning. If your summer was like mine, it was busy and flew by! As the year begins, it will be wonderful to see our incoming freshmen start their journey at MSJ and to welcome back our older boys as they reconnect with friends and teammates.
The Mother's Club is planning an exciting year, with many favorite events returning, including the Welcome Social, Mother-Son Communion Breakfast, and Bingo. Please be on the lookout for a calendar of all Mother's Club event dates.
The Mothers’ Club has been part of MSJ for more than 80 years. We strongly believe our young men learn by example, and we strive to model volunteerism, dedication, and service to MSJ and the surrounding community. Involvement in the Mother's Club is open to all mothers, grandmothers, and guardians. Whether you participate once a year, once a month, volunteer for one event, or join a committee, your involvement makes a difference. Taking the first step
can be hard, but once you do, you will build new friendships, feel more connected to the school, and gain a better understanding of what is happening at MSJ, both during and after the school day.
Our first event of the year is the Mother's Club meeting and Welcome Social, scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, at 7:00 p.m. in the Alumni Room, located in the Smith Center. We are continuing the tradition we began last year by combining our first meeting of the year with our new-member welcome social, and we hope many of you will attend.

On the school calendar, you can filter for Mother's Club events by month. We also have individual class pages on Facebook; search for “MSJ Class of” and your son’s graduation year to request to be added as a member.
I wish each of you and your sons a healthy and successful school year filled with exciting new experiences and time-honored traditions. I look forward to meeting all of you.

Book Club
Please join us on October 14th at 7 pm in the Smith Center Alumni Room for our discussion of Drowning in Paper Flowers by EL Westbury. Please bring a snack to share and a book to swap (if you would like to swap). We’ll be welcoming our new chairperson, Ms. Haley Schneck.
Trading Post
The Mount Saint Joseph Trading Post will be open on August 25, 2026, in the Smith Center under the main steps from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
If you need pants, polos, or dress shirts, or if you have items you would like to donate, please stop by.
